Johnette Iris Stubbs

“Orixas: Enrapture”

Inspired by her brother’s gift of a 35mm camera, Johnette began using photography as a tool to document her environment. As an African American woman living in Africa, Central America, Europe, South America, the Middle East and South Asia, Johnette has had incredible opportunities to witness some of the beauty and difficulties the world has to offer. Johnette’s portraiture work is both artistic and commercial. Her formal training in photography comes from a MFA from the International Center of Photography in New York. She has exhibited widely in museums and galleries and publishes her images in magazines and on the web.
