Jean Loup Pivin was born in 1951 and began his professional activity in architecture by creating his agency in 1977. He was interested mainly in working in the service of culture (museums, cultural centers, theaters, libraries, historical monuments) which, among others, the National Museum of Mali in Bamako - 1982, restoration of the Royal Palace Porto-Novo, Benin - 1985 and the Teatro delle Muse in Paris - 1988. He was also required to intervene, as an expert in cultural programs and missions for property valuation, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in many countries in Africa. In 1984/85 he returned to the cultural world. On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, he led a fact-finding mission to the World Carnival in France. In 1986, he created the Office of Engineering Cultural Tourism, and Recreation Day, while also exerting his activity as an architect and designer-museographer. With over decades of experience, he has had to create and implement cultural and tourism projects in all their aspects; from defining and positioning to the inauguration through the first years of operation. In 1990, he created REVUE NOIRE, International Journal of Contemporary African Art, where he is director of the publication.
