AFF Talks 1: The Photography Market In and out of Africa.

With the increased interest on contemporary art from Africa, various trends and forms of expression have become visible in the international art market. In the first of the AFF Talks, curators Elvira Dyangani Ose, Michket Krifa and Marina Reina delve into the question that arise on the position of art form Africa as it relates to the other parts of the world.

African Emerging Photography.
Curated by Mitchket Krifa and Laura Serani, the African emerging photography exhibition features the works of Abdoulaye Barry, Mohamed Camara, Nestor Da, Fatoumata Diabate, Uche Okpa-Iroha, Jehad Nga, Uche Nyani Quarmyne, Arturo Bibang, Baudouin Mouanda, Zanele Muholi, Nyaba Ouedraogo, Hussein and Hassan Essop. Initially showcased as part of the 2011 Bamako Biennial held in Mali, Bamako, the selection is from a collection of fifty photographs that offers a glimpse into the varying approaches of photography in Africa.
