Fata Morgana
Fata Morgana is the name of a complex mirage that distorts objects and then fades very quickly visible from my region in the southern part of Italy, Salento. Salento, like all of Europe, has recently become a false place of wonder for the people who are fleeing their homes in search of a better life. These pictures represent a metaphor for our geopolitical situation, which constructs imaginary lands and lives, constantly shifting the horizon of the destination that is dreamed about. My series “Fata Morgana” offers a new conception of themes related to migration and the immigrant labor market.

The Addis Foto Fest (AFF) was established in 2010 by award-winning photographer and cultural entrepreneur, Aida Muluneh. The festival is organized by Desta for Africa Creative Consulting PLC. AFF is a biennial international photography festival held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It has previously featured exhibitions, portfolio reviews, conferences, projections and film screenings in many different renowned venues. It is also the first and only international photography festival in East Africa.
