The exhibition Africa.es is part of the program InVisible Art, which has been developed for a number of years by AECID and its Department for Cultural Cooperation and Promotion of the Direction of Cultural and Scientific Relations. InVisible Art is a comprehensive support program to the visual arts in Africa, which aims to create the appropriate opportunities in the training, production and diffusion fields for talented artists to develop their visual practice. The exhibition Africa.es revolves around the perspective of several African photographers in relation to different Spanish urban contexts. The exhibition features the works of Mamadou Gomis, Patrick Wokmeni, Nii Obodai, Arturo Bibang, Emeka Okereke, Zanele Muholi, Mohamed Konate and Mulugeta Ayene. The eight African artists travelled to Spain where each one was assigned a Spanish city where they could transmit, without any thematic restriction and through their particular vision and reflection, what the city suggests through its spaces, people and situations.
